Corey Christanell Encourages Safe Athletics During Pandemic in Statement

St. Louis Sporting Complex owner Corey Christanell raises awareness to remain physically fit during pandemic.  Encourages local fitness facilities to follow protocols to reduce localized spread.

MANCHESTER, MO. March 11th, 2020

Corey Christanell, owner of the St. Louis Training Ground, released a statement today to raise awareness about the importance of remaining physically active during the national pandemic. The owner of the Manchester based facility cited a study released by the CDC reporting significant increases in physical and mental health problems.

“As we endeavor to keep our communities as safe as possible during this pandemic, we must not neglect the importance of remaining physically active.  For many of us, the lockdown restrictions brought about a more docile and isolated lifestyle.  This poses significant risks not just to our physical health, but also our mental health.”  Christanell said.

Corey Christanell went on to emphasize the challenge fitness facilities face and the need to adhere to State and Local protocols in their commitment to public health.

“Fitness facilities of all types have been in a catch-22 since this pandemic began.   These services are a staple of public health, but also pose a risk of community spread.  That is why it is paramount that these services champion the cause of public health, closely following protocols, to ensure the community can continue to benefit from them.”

According to the St. Louis County Website as of February 8th, 2021,  positive cases have been on the decline.  Christanell voiced his hopes the region will continue to improve.
