Corey Christanell Releases Initial Plans for Reopening of St. Louis Area Sports Complex

The St. Louis Training Ground staff have been in talks regarding a strategy for reopening. We felt it necessary to inform the general public ahead of time of what we have planned.

St. Louis County has seen the most cases in the entire State, so we are taking our response very seriously.  We have a commitment to protect the safety not only our patrons, but also our community.  When you think of sports, you often think of physical contact, locker rooms, crowds of people huddled together.  When we get around to setting a reopen date, we want our community to be ensured we will be taking extensive precautions.

As you can imagine, we are faced with a unique challenge, but I am confident we are up to the task. Our coaches have already been coming up with creative ways to practice while social distancing.

  1. The reopening date will be announced soon, but not date for reopening has been set
  2. We will be strictly adhering to Local and State Guidelines
  3. Initially we plan to limit groups in the facility to 10
  4. We will be practicing social distancing both on and off the field
  5. Strict limitations will be put on common areas to limit their use
  6. We ask all players and other visitors who feel sick, have a fever, or have been contact with anyone who is sick to please refrain from attending the facility for a minimum of 2 weeks from contact or recovery from symptoms
  7. We are considering screening players with Infrared Cameras before attending practice, although this has not been finalized as of yet
  8. The above listed precautions will be included with all of the other standard efforts which include more frequent and thorough cleaning of the facility
  9. We will be following a phased approach in line with state and local regulations
  10. Due to the evolving nature of the pandemic response, details of this plan are subject to change and will be shared with our patrons when we set the reopen date

We are fully aligned with local efforts to keep our community safe and more information will be forthcoming.
